Addicted to Adidas

So, as I'm sure you've noticed (unless you've been living under a rock), those old school black & white Adidas Superstars sneakers are back on trend. I had been wanting them for a while but wasn't sure if I wanted to splurge on yet another pair of sneakers. Then I thought about it more, and considering the classic style is only about $75, and I easily spend that in one trip to Nordstrom Rack... I figured I should just go for it.

Sequins for the Holiday Season

The holiday season means many things: spending time with friends and family, presents, shopping, overeating, Mariah Carey's Christmas album... But let's not forget one of my favorite parts, dressing up for holiday parties!

10 Fashionable Halloween Costumes

Okay, so Halloween is LITERALLY right around the corner... don't know what to do? Here are a few options that are both fashionable and pretty easy to find at your local mall/you might already have some of it in your closet. When I went searching around the internet all I could find were the same old typical costumes: vampire? Mean Girl? Black Cat? Thanksssss, cause I could never think of those on my own. I tried hard to put together a list of not your typical costumes, so hopefully they help! As for me, it made me want to dress up as all of them, so now I can't even decide which to do. Fair warning: most to all of the products I did not provide links to because I figured they're all pretty basic, you're not going to have time to order them online, or you can find them at pretty much any costume store. Hope thats okay, Trick or treat!

The Easy Way to do "Day to Night"

"Day to Night"... a phrase that is often said when it comes to fashion. Because let's face it, changing in a bathroom stall or car after work/school before heading out for the night is never the most enjoyable thing.

Phoenix Fashion Week

This past week, I had the honor of featuring my Debut Collection at Phoenix Fashion Week at The Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, AZ. My collection "Paradise Place" closed the show on Thursday night, October 1st! So of course, I had to find the perfect outfit to walk the runway in.

Little Black Jumsuit

I love a good jumpsuit. Come to think of it though, as many jumpsuits as I design myself, I really only have rompers! This black Prêt à Porter jumpsuit is my first! I love jumpsuits because I think they are sleek, effortless, and look really chic - especially a simple and sleeveless black one like this.

Fresh & Sweet for Summer

Don't you love when you put together pieces of your wardrobe you never thought of going together and it turns out looking great? That's actually what kind of happened here. I know that might be kind of surprising considering how much the colors match between this blouse and skirt... haha I mean that's what really led me to even trying them out together. At first I was thinking a white top, but that just seemed to basic and boring. Adding in a jewel tone, or any sort of color is way more eye catching and special. Finding this unexpected match made that idea pop in my head and stick with me, why not try pieces together that you usually don't wear together and see where it leads you? I think that's a really good idea to try and expand one's own personal style. Personally that's something I'm always trying to do.

When You're Feeling Kinda Boho...

You know how there's those people where you're like "ten bucks says she shows up wearing x, y, and z"? I don't know, I mean there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! In fact, if anything that shows someone really has an established personal style... which I can really admire. But! Personally, I like to kind of mix it up and have some more versatility in my style. Or it's like I like so many different looks and trends and like trying them all out. Some days I like dressing and feeling super boho, or some days it's edgy, or feminine, or preppy. For me it keeps things more fresh, I don't get bored too often (although that doesn't mean that I don't have those days where I'm like "I need a whole new wardrobe, I'm so over all of my clothes" - cause trust me that's a recurring feeling a lot of mornings). It also means that I'm never out shopping and like something but decide I shouldn't get it because it's not really my style or because I don't have anything else to wear with it.

The Single Dress

No, no... it's not what you're thinking, I'm not single! Andrew is still stuck with me for the time being. :) Anyways, this Single Dress thing is all about the new clothing company I discovered and am loving! SINGLE by Galina Sobolev has everything I am into right now. Beautiful colored prints, relaxed silhouettes in high end fabrics, and lots of boho inspiration. And not to mention, Galina is a sweetheart!

My Closet Essentials - Summer Edition

It was kind of hard to narrow this list down because I feel like I have so many different pieces that I love in my wardrobe. However, I tried to keep it to my staples of every day wear - and I will do a later post on must have trend pieces to complete your closet. So for me, these are my staple pieces that I will always gravitate towards when just throwing something quick and simple on - pieces I wear the most in my closet! (for summer that is, and in no particular order)

Pretty In Pink

As you may know, I don't just love to wear clothes, I design them too. I'm starting my final year in receiving my Bachelors degree in Fashion Design at FIDM in LA and now that I have more free time after Debut I want to start making more clothes for myself. I found this amazing bright pink fabric at ISW practically a year ago and finally got around to making something out of it. I wish you could see the complexity of the weave/pattern in this fabric, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to get much of an up close shot. [side note: if you are interested in commissioning any garments from me, e-mail me!]

Sleeveless Trench & Boyfriend Jeans

Okay so I've been loving the soft trench look, and have been wanting one of my own for a while. Unfortunately the cheapest one I could find was $100 and that was not happening. Until I found this amazing sleeveless one at LOT 2029 in Fargo, ND for $65. (Sorry my Cali girls! although maybe they'll ship it to you if you call because it's not on their website either -- however, I found one at H&M that is amaze, and is even cheaper, check it out below) I saw it in the window display when we walked up to the store and I was like "I'm getting that for sure. No question about it." I tried it on and it was a done deal. I haven't tried it out yet, but I think I might be able to close up the front and wear it as a dress... Stay tuned because I will for sure post if I'm successful...

Lovely in Lace

I love LA, but there's nothing like a getaway to somewhere slower, more peaceful and relaxing. Usually I'm a beach vacation kind of girl, but I love going up to North Dakota, especially when I get to spend time down by this river. During my trip up there last week, spring was definitely starting to happen. Light green leaves had just started coming back on the previously barren and brown trees. The weather was also perfectly sunny and beautiful, with some wind which I always love. There's something so calming about a breeze around you...

That 70s Show - A look at Zara's current collection

I walked in to Zara the other week and from the moment I stepped in the door it was pretty clear what their current trends were: 70s, denim, and lacy whites. I was in love. Over the past few years, fashion has definitely been taking a look back to past decades. I never thought I would be so excited about when we reached the 70s, but I surprisingly am...

A Winter Coat Kind of Day

Some of the best outfits are the simplest. That simple, chic, and modern look is what I was going for when my boyfriend and I had reservations at Perch in downtown LA. I love warm weather and the sun, so I was pretty bummed when it was overcast and chilly on my birthday this past weekend. This kind of weather is not really conducive to wearing a cute birthday girl dress...

C'est BON

Usually when I put together a look, I start off with one piece that I know I want to wear, then I build from there. This look started with the pants. I found these amazing floral print, silk tuxedo pants at the boutique Fowlers Heritage Company  in non other than Fargo, ND...

Easter Sunday at the Club

My family spent Easter this year at The Aliso Viejo Country Club. Although this wasn't our typical Easter celebration, the food was soo good, the view was beautiful, and I always love seeing my extended family whenever possible. Oh! and I always love a celebration (a.k.a. a reason to pick out an amazing outfit).

Love Is In The Air

Valentine's Day is right around the corner... which of course means let the planning begin! Whether you're in a relationship or a single lady, I know most of us try and figure out the perfect thing to do that night. Whether your plans include a date night with your man, night out on the town with some girlfriends, or maybe even a Valentine's Day party,  this is one of those occasions where dressing up and finding the perfect outfit is key. For me, I think Valentine's Day is the perfect time to go all out feminine, flirty, and sexy...

Lace, Fringe, & Gladiators

I'm the type of person where my style changes based on my mood that day. Some days, I just feel like going all out boho: fringe, lace, layered necklaces, hats, long and flowing silhouettes. Go big or go home right? Today was one of those days...

Printed Dresses & Lace Up Heels

Here in sunny Los Angeles, summer is nowhere near over... meaning the heat is only about to get worse. While the painfully hot days can be frustrating for some people, I love it because I am a true So-Cal girl at heart. If I can wear sandals and a sun dress? It's my kind of day...
